Dressing for Success with Canadian Coveted Label Judith & Charles

Our Editor-in-Chief Jessica Eritou was invited to attend the Women in Communications and Technology's "Time for Real Change: Mentorship and Opportunites for Women in Communication and Technology" at the Rideau Club this week.

It was a great panel discussion focusing on the political landscape and opportunities available for women in the capital.

Judith & Charles dressed her for the occasion featuring all new pieces from their Spring collection. The Canadian label caught the attention of the fashion world when Sophie Gregoire Trudeau was spotted in their "Close Dress" for the Canada 2020 reception in Washington D.C.

Feminine touches with hints of menswear are a constant theme to the label. According to the label, once she, the client, is familiar with her size, the consistent quality of tailoring will allow her to know how each of their pieces will fit.

The label also has strong ties to Canada. Ninety per cent of the clothes made by Judith & Charles are locally manufactured, which supports local economies.

For Jessica's look, the company dressed in their French blue Beckmann jacket. It is perfect for making a bold statement, and very appropriate for business functions due to the modern tailoring and tuxedo collar.

As the jacket was the main focal point, the Swanson blouse is the perfect piece to wear underneath, which features a very flattering neckline.

To bring the look all together Judith & Charles' flattering flat front Takashi pant ties in the black single button on the Beckmann jacket, and as well if you choose to roll up the jacket's sleeves.

A big Thank You to Judith & Charles, as well as Margaux, Sandra, and Maria from the company for making this happen.

What Sophie Wore: Perfect in Pink Tartan

Tonight, Prime Minster Justin Trudeau and wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau are in New York for the 2016 Catalyst Awards Dinner. PMJT delivered a key note on gender equality, and his team's incentive to have more women running for leadership roles in politics.

Justin looked good as always, but we thought Sophie really took the spot light in her stunning Pink Tartan tuxedo. As expected, this outfit is another piece from a Canadian luxury label. We hope to see her wear more from them.

What Sophie Wore: Lucian Matis, Aldo, and Zvelle

Huffington Post Canada Style
Huffington Post Canada's Style section confirmed what Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau's Canadian designer was ensemble today for her, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's second day in Washington, D.C. For all three days in Washington, Ms. Gregoire-Trudeau will be wearing head-to-toe Canadian labels, with the help of Jessica Mulroney.

Tonight is the anticipated Canada State Dinner, hosted by President Barack Obama, and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Huffington Post Canada/CP Images
Today, Sophie sported a lovely dress from Lucian Matis, pink pointed toe pumps from Zvelle, and a poppy red clutch from Aldo.

Highlights: At first glance, Sophie's bright pink heels and the complimentary pink accents on her dress, grab our attention first.

Significance: The silhouette of the dress is quite conservative and appropriate for the occasion, yet the pattern and cut-out pattern blocking livens up her look and brings energy to this photo op.

Overall: Perfectly executed. We are really pleased with how Sophie wore bright pink pumps instead of a safe poppy red (and playing it super safe), as it brings out the accent on her Lucian Matis dress. Her dress is quite busy, so it was great to have her hair tied back with a polished pony as well to make the dress the focal point.
