Dressing for Success with Canadian Coveted Label Judith & Charles

Our Editor-in-Chief Jessica Eritou was invited to attend the Women in Communications and Technology's "Time for Real Change: Mentorship and Opportunites for Women in Communication and Technology" at the Rideau Club this week.

It was a great panel discussion focusing on the political landscape and opportunities available for women in the capital.

Judith & Charles dressed her for the occasion featuring all new pieces from their Spring collection. The Canadian label caught the attention of the fashion world when Sophie Gregoire Trudeau was spotted in their "Close Dress" for the Canada 2020 reception in Washington D.C.

Feminine touches with hints of menswear are a constant theme to the label. According to the label, once she, the client, is familiar with her size, the consistent quality of tailoring will allow her to know how each of their pieces will fit.

The label also has strong ties to Canada. Ninety per cent of the clothes made by Judith & Charles are locally manufactured, which supports local economies.

For Jessica's look, the company dressed in their French blue Beckmann jacket. It is perfect for making a bold statement, and very appropriate for business functions due to the modern tailoring and tuxedo collar.

As the jacket was the main focal point, the Swanson blouse is the perfect piece to wear underneath, which features a very flattering neckline.

To bring the look all together Judith & Charles' flattering flat front Takashi pant ties in the black single button on the Beckmann jacket, and as well if you choose to roll up the jacket's sleeves.

A big Thank You to Judith & Charles, as well as Margaux, Sandra, and Maria from the company for making this happen.

Jessica and Sophie collaborated and made sure to have Sophie wearing head-to-toe Canadian designers, for all six looks. As well, it was important to feature Canadian labels that were accessible to many fashion enthusiast, like Judith & Charles and Aldo.

As expected, garments and accessories spotted on Sophie are flying off the shelves and even on back order.

Sophie's Jacket and Dress at the Canada 2020 Reception

Canada 2020/Twitter

To begin, Sophie is gorgeous, and her stunning jacket deserves its own post. Her jacket is giving us major Valentino vibes, but it is from a Canadian label (which we love). We will update you ASAP when we find out who makes it.

Sophie's jacket is from Canadian label, Ellie Mae, and her jacket is called "Yazmin". In fact, a few days ago Sophie was spotted in Toronto wearing the label's "Shelia" jacket.

UPDATE: Sophie's timeless and polished white dress is from Canadian label Judith & Charles. It is called the "Close Dress" from their Spring 2016 collection. It will be available online and in stores shortly.

We have also indentified what Sophie wore earlier today, when she landed in D.C.

Interim Leader Rona Ambrose's Best Looks for 2015

As you may know the CPC have a new Interim Leader Rona Ambrose. We want to congratulate Ms. Ambrose for her new role for the party.

Hon. Rona Ambrose seems to have always had impeccable taste to her style and fashion choices. She has some of the best jackets out of anyone on the Hill. Ambrose tends to pull off very tailored silhouettes in dark deep colours with small accents. If she is in seen a lighter colour, the garment tends to have plentiful texture and weight to it.

We wish her the very best in the new year, for the new and refreshed party!

Here are our favourite looks of hers in 2015:

(Our number 1 pick. What makes this outfit even better is the fact Ms. Ambrose pairs the dress and skirt with a platform bootie. A pump, would have been okay, but the bootie amps up the coolness.)

(We want to shop in her closet. This jacket phenomenal.)

(Love the zipper details.)

(A simple blouse would be predictable, but the patterned gray neutral freshes this look up while keeping it effortless and polished.)

(This look is stylish, corporate, feminine, flattering, and appropriate for her job and here lies the proof you can look professional without being boring.)

(A bold look as Ms. Ambrose pulls it off so well with the detail around the neckline, almost like a scarf.)

If you like Ms. Ambrose's style we recommend Canadian label judith + charles for similar suits, jackets, and skirts.
