Let's Talk It Out

CTV News

For those who may have missed it, PMJT stopped by CTV's talk show The Social for a special episode in collaboration with Bell Media for one of their biggest fundraisers to date.

Bell Let's Talk is an initative which helps end the stigma around mental health. On Jan. 27 money was raised by texting, tweeting by using the hashtag #BellLetsTalk.

PMJT also shared his own family's experience with mental health, and spoke about how his mother, Margaret Trudeau as being one of his inspirations.

You can catch the full episode of The Social's special here.

Highlights: The tie! We barely see him wear this colour.

Signifance: Prime Minister's magenta tie perfectly coordinates with all of the hosts' attire. The tie colour may have been a subtle suggestion of commroditery with the colour for the hosts and demographic of the show. Normally for public events, we tend to see him in a dark or light blue tie. Much like other casual events and appearances, PMJT rocks the shirt with his sleeves rolled up with dark blue dress pants.

Overall: Great job. We are glad to see him help raise awareness for this great cause.

House (of Commons) So Big I Haven't Seen Them Boys In Two Days

Amidst all the sparring today in the house House of Commons over ISIS and pipelines, we do have to say we love both Interim-Leader Rona Ambrose and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's style seen today in Ottawa for their first day back sitting.

Sock Game On Fleek

Andrew Vaughan/Canadian Press
Well, that didn't last too long.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau kept it conservative and cool at his initial World Economic Forum message and appearance on Wednesday. On Jan. 21 PMJT met a group of young forum attendees at the session "Global Shapers on Pluralism", according to the CBC. The meeting changed his style game immensely in Davos, Switzerland with one of his signature looks.

Andrew Vaughan/Canadian Press

Highlights: PMJT kept it light and fun with a purple tie, sans jacket, rolled up sleeves on his dress shirt, and of course, quirky skull-and-crossbones purple socks.

Significance: This may be the first time we have seen PMJT without a jacket on so far in Davos. By wearing a shirt with the sleeves rolled up, we get a more casual vibe coming from the Prime Minister. By having been styled this way we think he is seen as more approachable to the youth, as it sets a more easy-going atmosphere and breaks down any barriers for young people who don't tend to wear suits in their daily lives just yet. However, he presents himself as respectable to the group by sporting a business casual look with a shirt and tie. The fun socks were a great opportunity to wear them, as the group were neighbourly and welcoming.

Overall: We think this is a great approach for engaging the youth this way. The tone of the session was positive and uplifting, so we think this look was just right. Well done.

Dapper in Davos

PMJT arrived in Davos, Switzerland in style this week for the World Economic Forum. The Prime Minister declared it is the best time to invest in Canada.

His opening speech also touched on the country's diversity, and now more than ever, Canada's focus on equality.

PMJT also had the chance to speak with U2's Bono, House of Cards' Kevin Spacey, and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio at a private reception hosted by businessman and philanthropist, Jack Ma according to the CBC.

Highlights: We feel PMJT looks his best in anything blue, so the World Economic Forum stage made him look even more on point as if it were a real-life Instagram filter.

Significance: His carefully crafted look complimented the World Economic Forums's cobalt blue backdrop with a complimentary pale blue dress shirt, and what looks like the same Hugo Boss tie he wore on the day of his swear-in as PM. As this is a more serious forum and environment, PMJT's usual sock game was toned down a notch or two for a more conservative vibe for the meeting.

Overall:  His suit, tie, shirt, and modest socks complimented just about everything around him. Although we would have loved to see him wear his bold socks, we understand the meeting's more serious atmosphere for his initial message, and we like that he did too.

Still Fly And Sky High

(THE CANADIAN PRESS/Andrew Vaughan)

PMJT was seen today on his way to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic forum, according to the Financial Post.

Trudeau kept it lightweight and refined by wearing a delicate wool overcoat boarding his plane.

Highlights: The outerwear piece. Simply because it has all the necessities of a classic dressy outwear coat, but has an integrated full-length zipper that protects your chest and neck higher up from the wind.

Significance: Flying high in Canada's equivalent to Air Force One, PMJT needs to be comfortable for his long flight. This coat to and from is the perfect combination of refined and functionality.

Overall: Perfect for a freezing cold front in Canada at the moment, this look says "I can still look respectable in frigid temperatures." Well done.

Current Vibe: Fade and Yeezy Season 2

Lately, we've really into the a track, "Fade" that most of us hope will be on Swish, coming out February 11. This isn't really fashion, but this track was featured in the YEEZY Season 2 collection for Adidas and Kanye West.

While living in Ottawa, we are fortunate enough for the modern luxury store SSENSE close by in Montreal. The store which features duty-free shopping, as well as free shipping across Canada. SSENSE currently sells the YEEZY Season 1 collection for men and women.

NRML is another shop in downtown Ottawa which is one of the few stores across Canada that gets their hands on any upcoming YEEZY Boost 350 and 750 colour way.

Shop for YEEZY Season 1 here, and check out NRML here

Take a listen below of the instrumental version of "Fade".

PMJT Running Through The 6 (With My Woes)

thestar.com JOHN TORY VIA TWITTER
Happy New Year! What a great way to kick off 2016, with PMJT visiting one of the most famous Canadian cities worldwide, Toronto.

The Prime Minster met with Toronto Mayor John Tory at Toronto City Hall to discuss infrastructure and investing in the city with transit and housing. Prime Minister Trudeau also thanked the lovely welcoming of Syrian refugees from Torontonians.

PMJT kept it pretty classic but we are happy to see some subtle sartorial touches for this visit.

Highlights: Impeccable suit, as well as a strong black, outwear piece with what it seems to be a heavy wool or alpaca collar.

Significance: That classic Toronto Maple Leafs blue goes hand-in-hand with this city, so it was a great nod to Toronto by having JT sport that exact hue of blue. It's important to note JT's bold argyle socks seen in a cute photo-op moment at City Hall. His socks showed off his loyal Montreal Canadiens pride through the team's subtle insignia on top. By sporting the Maple Leafs hue with the tie he wears, perhaps he is subtly showing care and concern for the city while providing a shout-out to Toronto. Many may try to pinpoint the reason why he looks like he lives here (or still represents a la Drake), and can't quite figure it out.

OverallToronto is more on the conservative side when it comes to dressing, but it's done with refinement and care. Suits and power dressing are at it's finest in this country so this was a great time for PMJT to show off his polished taste.
